Although the name might imply that Built By Ninjas is some secret society of shadow-in-the-night construction workers who can kill you with their pinkies…it is actually a music video production group. Cleverly schemed by the minds of Jaret Reddick and Heath Balderston, Built By Ninjas sets out to give bands the opportunity to produce affordable, quality music videos in a whole new way. Although there are rules against exposing any real training methods, we can tell you that Built By Ninjas sneaks into the process almost undetected by drawing from the thoughts and direction of the musicians they work with.

The concept behind Built By Ninjas is really rather simple: Start with an engaging idea and gather a collection of hidden talents (the ninjas) to bring it to life. The charge is lead by Jaret and Heath teaming up on treatments and sharing the director’s seat throughout the production. And, since the only way to make a music video effective is to see it, Built By Ninjas wraps up the process by helping to distribute their work through a chain of various music and production connections as well as numerous social networks and online communities.

Jaret Reddick and Heath Balderston formed Built By Ninjas after finding that they both had an interest in producing and directing music videos. From opposite sides of the camera, the guys have united and brought their experiences together. Jaret has spent the last 15 years as front-man for the band, Bowling For Soup. Known for his wit and humorous personality, he now looks to bring that quality to the videos produced by Built By Ninjas. Heath spent the majority of his professional career in the world of advertising serving as an Art Director and, more recently, has spent the past 5 years as Creative Director for the motion design and production firm, Intake Studio.
